Avoid Grapefruit Juice when taking Simvastatin

A number of studies have demonstrated that consuming grapefruit juice while taking Simvastatin (commonly used to treat high cholesterol) causes a large increase in the amount of Simvastatin that your body absorbs. This may result in an increased risk of side effects, such as muscle pain. Therefore it is best to avoid grapefruit juice while taking simvastatin.
